I went to Turkey for a £3k Brazilian Bum Lift

Jul 22, 2023

A SCOT who travelled to Turkey for a Brazilian Bum Lift (BBL) has revealed it was the most painful experience of her life - even worse than childbirth.

Danielle, 34, is a self-confessed cosmetic surgery ‘addict’ and made sure to research the controversial procedure thoroughly before spending nearly £3,000 at a clinic in Istanbul.

However she reckons that no amount of studying could have prepared her for the agonising recovery process after flying home two days later.

The operation is considered dangerous due to the number of patients who have died either during or after the surgery.

But the mum of one, who tragically lost a son, admits she was terrified something could happen to her - but she still doesn’t regret getting the operation.

Danielle says: “I still swell up and I’m nearly 15 weeks later and I still have shooting pains up my back and side.

“It’s like acid burning inside your skin.

“My bum is constantly on fire and it takes six months for full recovery.

“They told me it’s like getting your lips done but it’s not, I’ve had two kids and never felt pain like this.

“You can’t sit down for eight weeks, you have to go on your knees, you have a special BBL pillow and you sleep on your belly.

“It’s one of the most dangerous procedures and the hardest recoveries.

“I was so scared, they inject the fat with an ultrasound, because if they put fat in an artery it can go to your heart.

“Lots of people have died so I did my research on the clinic.

“Once I went in I was crying, I was like ‘please don’t let me die.’

“But I don’t regret it at all."

She adds: “So many people have big bums and wee waists, it was just recently I’d started thinking about it because everybody else was getting it done.

“But you’ll never ever get the results from surgery that you can get in the gym, it’s important to say that.”
